- Please maintain a good pace of play.
- All members must have a league handicap or submit five scorecards
to obtain one, and play five league events to be eligible to
win tournament play.
FORMAT:
Weekly individual tournaments will be held at Fairways Golf &
Country Club. Some tournaments require a handicap so results will
not be immediately available.
HANDICAPS:
There is a box located in the League Lounge in the back room
on the first floor for you to submit all "in season"
scorecards from Fairways or other courses you have played. All
scorecards must have your full name and date and be totaled. Please
submit all your scores to get an accurate handicap.
SCORING SYSTEM FOR LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS:
A/ B Flight Championship: Each week your scores
are charted. The four players with the lowest net scores (gross
less handicap applied) receive points. Lowest net gets 4 points,
second lowest gets 3 points, third lowest gets 2 points, fourth
lowest gets 1 point. If a tie, each golfer gets points. All points
are accumulated throughout the season. At the end of the season,
the eight players with the most points will qualify for their
flights playoffs. Flights will be determined based on league handicaps.
CLOSEST TO THE PIN:
Each week Fairways will donate a FREE ROUND OF GOLF for the Closest
to the Pin winner on Hole Number 3. Ball must be on the green
to qualify.
50/50:
Each week the league will hold a 50/50 chance for members. Members
must sign envelope after placing $1.00 in envelope. All proceeds
benefit Ladies Monday Night Golf.
CHIP-IN KITTY:
Each week members have the option to put $1.00 in the Chip-in
Kitty. Members must sign envelope after placing $1.00 in the envelope
to qualify to win. Only chips-ins on hole one through nine will
qualify. All proceeds benefit Ladies Monday Night Golf.
PACE OF PLAY:
- Each group must keep up with the group ahead, no
gaps.
- If you cannot locate your ball right away, take the penalty
stroke and play on.
- Cart driver should be the longer, faster player.
- Cart should be driven to ball – golfers should not
park and walk unless carts are only permitted on cart path that
day.
- Keep all carts 30 feet from tees and greens.
- It is not always necessary to mark each putt, you have the
option of putting out – this will save time.
- Play Ready Golf!
RULES:
- Count all strokes.
- Whiffs are a stroke!!! Count them as you would any
other stroke.
- Hit the ball where it lies, for example no kicking out of
the rough to fairway.
- If you hit out of bounds, drop ball within two club lengths
from where it went out of bounds, no closer to the hole, one
stroke penalty.
- Unplayable lies, drop ball no closer to hole, one
stroke penalty.
- Water hazards, drop ball behind the hazard along line in which
ball entered hazard, one stroke penalty.
- If sand trap is not raked you can move ball out of footprints.
- No gimmies!!
- Pick up ball after double par.
If on a Par 3 your ball is still not in the hole after 6 strokes,
pick up your ball and proceed to the next hole. If on a Par
4 your ball is not in the hole after 8 strokes, pick up your
ball and proceed to the next hole. If the weekly event is low
putts count automatic four putts for that hole. Example: if
you had to pick up on a Par 3, you would write down on your
scorecard 6/4.
- Maintain a good pace of play, no gaps between the group in
front of you.
- Be HONEST!
WEEKLY EVENTS:
- Low Putts – score total strokes and
total putts for every hole. Example 6/4 = six stokes total on
hole / four putts total on hole. A putt is anytime you are on
the green and take a stroke. Using your putter from off the
green does not count as a putt. Lowest number of putts wins
weekly event.
- Low Net – score total stroke for every
hole. Lowest net (score after handicap) winners will be calculated
after handicap deadline.
- Best Six – score total stroke for every
hole. Best six holes winners will be calculated after handicap
deadline.
TIES: Ties are broken by determining total strokes
for three hardest holes. If still tied, we total scores for next
three holes. If still tied, we total scores for last three holes.
If still tied, we go hole by hole starting with the toughest.
