FAIRWAYS TWOSOME LEAGUE RULES

1. Each week you will play 9 holes of golf, in which you will keep your score as usual. The league is NEVER rained out. If it is raining on Wednesday, you have till the following Sunday to get your scores in.

 

2. After your round you will add your total points, which are as follows:

 

  • Double bogey = 1 point
  • Bogey = 2 points
  • Par = 3 points
  • Birdie = 4 points

     

3. There should only be two players names from your team on each scorecard. Each team keeps score for themselves. At the end of the round you should go over your scores together and record your points on the scorecard as shown below. Please be sure to double check all calculations and put your scorecard in the designated box on the window sill in the Clubhouse. Please be sure to date your scorecard.

4. HANDICAPS: After our scores are handed in I will average your points to get your handicap. I will then determine if you receive positive, negative or even points for that week. If will then be charted and kept as a running total for the season. The team with the most points at the end of the season is the winner. Each week your handicap could change, but it can never go down more then 2 points for that week. It can go up without a limit.

 

5. NO SHOW: If you cannot make it on a Wednesday you have 3 options:

 

  • You can golf your 9 holes on any other day and turn in your scorecard in the designated box, BUT they must be in the by the following Saturday.
  • Or you can skip that week. If you do not get your scores in, your team will get negative 2 points for that week. The reason for this is that is other players play and get a negative score and you do not play, it would not be fair to give you even points.
  • Or you can bring a substitute. The substitute has to use your partners handicap plus 3 points and they cannot get more then 5 points, or lose more than 4 points for your team. If the same substitute plays twice they will establish their own handicap.

 

6. BASIC RULES: Please keep in mind our main reason for being here is TO HAVE FUN. Al thought having fun is our main reason, it's not our only reason. The RULE OF GOLF are a very important part of golf, therefore, we must enforce certain rules:

 

  • NO GIMMIES
  • A SWING AND A MISS COUNTS AS A STROKE
  • HIT THE BALL WHERE IT LIES (unless stated otherwise)
  • PICK UP YOUR B ALL AFTER REACH DOUBLE PAR
  • NO MULLIGANS
  • PROPER GOLF ETTIQUETTE (please read sign on 1st Tee)
  • COUNT ALL YOUR STROKES

 

In order to make this League a success, we must all work together. Unfortunately, if the above rules are not followed it will result in a negative 1 point for the week. We want this League to be both fun and fair.

 

IMPORTANT DATES:

 

  • Sept. 3, 2008 - Last day of league play. (All scorecards must be in by 9-7-08)
  • Sept. 20, 2008 - 18 hole scramble, BBQ and Awards
