Fair Ladies’ Rally for the Cure® Golf Outing
Warrington….Fair Ladies Golf League hosted their annual Rally
for the Cure® Golf Outing on Friday, July 25, 2008 at Fairways
Golf Course in Warrington, PA.
This annual event brought out 136 women golfers, in pink attire,
for the purpose of raising not only funds for the Susan G. Komen
for the Cure® but to put Breast Cancer Awareness at the forefront
of the day. “It’s a day of remembrance, too,”
says Belinda Cush, Rally Coordinator, “we honor survivors
and remember our loved ones with a special tribute at the eighteenth
hole”.
The Fair Ladies Golf League and their friends from many other women’s
leagues in the area – Horsham Valley, Middletown, LuLu, Bucks
County, Oxford Valley, to name a few –have generated $13,000.
The outing began at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. It was a fun-filled
day with lots of opportunity to win many themed baskets, door prizes,
and a Vacation Home raffle in the Outer Banks.
Three teams tied for Low Gross Scramble with a score of 58. In
a match of scorecards, 1st place went to Joan Saxman (Yardley, PA)
and her daughters Shelly Hill (Sinking Springs, PA), Kelly Saxman
(Warminster, PA), Kristy LeVasseur (Myrtle Beach, NC); 2nd place
went to Carol Poust (Langhorne, PA), Linda Difloure (Furlong, PA),
Joan Redeyoff (Langhorne, PA), Joan Witte (Yardley, PA); and 3rd
place went to Viv Werner (Warminster, PA), Kim Cornell (Warminster,
PA), Linda Sosnowski (Willow Grove, PA), Eileen Burke (Flourtown,
PA).
Linda Morrison won the Hole #1 Remembrance Hole Raffle winning
a free entry into Rally 2009. Carol Williams won a golf bag for
2nd and MiMi Nutt won a golf purse for 3rd.
Closest to Pin winners were: Hole #3 - Sue Bernhard; Rally Hole
# 5- Shelly Hill; Hole #15 – Nancy Steinberg; and, Putting
Green – Lyn Jackson.
Longest Drive winners were: Hole #5 – Joan Redeyoff; Hole
#16 – Kristy LeVasseur
Golfers Gladys Benner, Marlene Franek, Suzi Johnson, Linda Martin,
Viv Werner, Joan Redeyoff, Joan Witte, Linda Difloure, Shelly Hill,
Kristy LeVasseur, Peggy Kasper, and Carol Williams received a Titliest
Rally golf ball for landing on the green on the Rally Hole - Hole
#9.
